A Michigan man stands accused of wandering around his neighborhood nude, fighting with police, and ultimately crawling into a refrigerator.
Police responded to a call about a nude man wandering around a neighborhood and repeatedly striking a house with a shovel. The naked gardening enthusiast was identified as 53-year-old Scott W. Lange.
When police arrived, Lange was found with cuts all over his body and bleeding from numerous locations. Lange was ordered to drop the shovel. When he refused and tried to make a break for his own home, he was tased by the police.
Officers were unable to pry the shovel from his hands. Lange then crawled into his house and slammed the door behind him.
Officers kicked open the door and Lange threw a metal chair and the shovel at them. The shovel struck an officer in the chest, knocking her off her feet.
Lange then crawled into an empty refrigerator and continued throwing anything and everything he could find at the police. Police tased him again, causing him to fall out of the refrigerator. While on the ground, he attempted to eat broken glass.
According to the police report, Lange told police he was embarrassed, thought he was dreaming and didn’t know where he was.
Neighbors told police he had been wandering up and down the sidewalk nude, going onto porches and ringing doorbells.
Police suspect he may have been under the influence of drugs. The neighbor who called 911 describes Lange as “the sweetest guy ever”.
