Atlanta rapper Yung Mazi was shot and killed over the weekend after surviving 11 prior shootings.
Mazi once tweeted that God made him “bulletproof,” which may have seemed like a safe assessment at the time considering he had previously survived gunshots to the chest and head.
When asked why he thought he’d been shot so many times (two more times than 50 Cent, the poster child of bullet hole scars), the troubled 28-year-old said it was because he was “too real.” He also attributed it to the quarter mil worth of jewelry he was known to wear.
After being shot in the head, Mazi, real name Jibril Abdur-Rahman, suffered brain damage and struggled to complete simple tasks such as helping his daughter with her homework.
Rahman was found dead on Sunday inside Urban Pie, a restaurant located across the street from a police station. His daughter was reportedly picked up by her mother at the restaurant moments before he was shot.
